Gains:
- Ability to quickly draft conversion-oriented product title, description and bullet points with artificial intelligence and revise them according to the brand voice
- Ability to apply the discipline of creating understated and verifiable content that translates product features (specs) into benefit sentences.
- Ability to recognize misleading claims, copyright and brand safety risks and pass each content through commercial and legal filters before publication
In an e-commerce store, the customer cannot hold, smell or try the product. Instead, there are just a few elements: title, image, bullets, description, and scores. These elements are the “salesperson” of the product. A well-written headline product can be found when you look for it; a well-written description turns hesitation into purchase; A poorly written text will cause the product to be left in the cart, no matter how good it is. Artificial intelligence (AI) can produce these texts in draft form in minutes rather than hours; But people still determine the difference between a good text and a text that sells. In this unit, we will learn to operate AI like a content assistant, reworking its output according to brand voice and reality.
Let's clarify the two terms first. Brand voice is the consistent tone of your store: friendly, formal, humorous or technical. A customer should hear the same "sound" across your different products. A benefit sentence is a sentence that turns a technical feature into a benefit in the customer's life: "5000 mAh battery" is a feature; "Use it all day long without worrying about charging" is a benefit. Customers buy benefits, not features. This is where AI is most powerful: quickly translating validated features into utility sentences.
Anatomy of product text
Let's divide a product page text into four parts.
Title. It allows you to be found and clicked when searched. The formula for a good headline is usually: Brand + Product Type + Distinguishing Feature + Use/Fit + Color/Size (if applicable). Example: "Brand X Wireless Headphones, 30 Hour Battery, IPX4 Water Resistant, Black". The title should be neither too short (uninformative) nor too long (looks spammy). Each marketplace has a different character limit; so you adapt the title according to the platform.
Bullets. Top 3-5 benefits that the customer scanned in 5 seconds. Each article starts with a feature and ends with a benefit. It should be short scannable lines, not long paragraphs.
Explanation. Detail, usage scenario, box contents, compatibility, maintenance. Here you answer the customer's "I wonder" questions: "Is it compatible with my phone?", "Can I use it in the rain?", "What comes in the box?".
Attributes. Structured fields such as color, size, material. These enable both filtering and search, and filling them in correctly is critical for SEO (we will detail them in the next unit).
The following table shows the difference between good and bad text:
item
weak
strong
Title
"Super Headphones on Sale!!!"
"Brand X Wireless Headphones, 30 Hour Battery, IPX4, Black"
matter
"Quality product"
"IPX4 water resistant: peace of mind in rain and sports"

"Quickly connects to phone, tablet and computer via Bluetooth 5.3; headphones, charging cable and 3 sizes of earbuds are included in the box."
claim
"The best headphones on the market"
"30 hours total battery life (including case)"
Step by step: Content production with AI
- Collect verified features. Prepare the product's actual spec document, supplier data, box contents. Never let the AI say "you guess".
- Define audience and tone. Who buys it, why buys it, what is the brand voice.
- Have the draft produced. Request title, article and description from AI with feature + audience + tone + rule.
- Verify the claims. Every number, every feature, every "best/first/unique" claim is confirmed by spec and legislation.
- Rework your brand voice. Put your own spin on the common language of AI; Throw away the clichés.
- Legal and platform filter. Check for misleading claims, unauthorized trademarks, health/performance promises.
Hint: Also tell the AI what the product is not. Negative rules like “There is NO active noise canceling in this product, don't imply that” cut the most common bogus claims right off the bat.
Four copyable templates
1) Header generation (platform adaptable):
Your role: e-commerce content editor assistant.Product type: [product]. Brand: [brand]. Verified distinguishing features: [3 features].Color/Size: [if available]. Target marketplace: [Trendyol/Hepsiburada/Amazon].Task: produce 3 alternative titles of up to [number of characters] characters, following this marketplace's title rules.Rule: Use only given features; Adding all-caps shouting, exclamation points, and unprovable claims like “best/#1”.
2) Benefit-oriented bullet points:
Translate the following verified specifications into customer benefit.Features: [list].Audience: [who]. Tone: [brand voice].Task: write 4 short bullet points each in the format "feature -> benefit". No exaggeration, each item is a single sentence. Do not add any feature that you are not sure about or that is not given.
3) Explanation draft (with question-answer logic):
Product: [product]. Verified information: [spec + box contents + compatibility]. Audience: [who]. Tone: [brand voice].Task: Write a 100-140 word description. Naturally answer these customer questions: What is it compatible with? What comes in the box? Where/how to use? How to clear it?Rule: do not fabricate information not given; For unknown locations, type [VERIFY].
4) Text control (pre-publication control):
Check the product text below.Text: [text]. Verified features: [list].Task: (a) List each claim in the text and mark SUPPORTED/UNSUPPORTED by the given specifications.(b) Mark misleading, exaggerated or unprovable statements.(c) Indicate if there are any unauthorized brand names or health/performance promises.
Trademark safety, copyright and misleading claim
Product copy isn't just about selling; It also carries legal liability. You should know three risks. Misleading commercial practice: stating a feature that the product does not have (for example, saying "it offers silence" when it does not have noise cancellation) is misleading advertising within the scope of Consumer Law No. 6502; It results in extradition, complaints and administrative fines. Copyright and trademark infringement: copying another brand's text, using a brand/logo name without permission (breaking the brand's usage rules when saying "iPhone compatible") creates problems. Unprovable superiority claim: Phrases such as "best on the market", "#1", "100% natural" cannot be used without evidence.
Attention: Since the AI has never seen the product, it easily produces filler adjectives such as "soft", "premium feeling", "most durable". If these do not sell and turn into unprovable claims, they pose a risk. He answers each adjective with the question "can I prove this?" Test it by saying.
three mini cases
Case 1 — Time savings. A home textile store produced descriptions of 180 sets of sheets with AI. The team provided the actual fabric information (ranforce, 200 thread, 100% cotton) of each product as input. AI prepared drafts in 1 day; editor compared claims to label, corrected thread count on 6 products. Text production time decreased from 3 weeks to 2 days.
Case 2 — Made-up feature. A vendor had the AI simply give the product name (“smartwatch”) and produce a description. YZ wrote features as "ECG measurement and blood sugar monitoring"; However, these were not in the product. The text went live, and when customers looked for these features and could not find them, returns and complaints exploded. Lesson: having text generated without attribute input produces misleading advertising.
Case 3 — Brand voice inconsistency. It had a boutique, friendly and simple brand voice; But since each product was produced in a different AI session, some texts turned out to be "legendary" and some "modest". The solution: add a fixed “brand voice guide” text to the beginning of each prompt; The entire catalog became one voice.
Weak prompt / Strong prompt
Weak prompt:
Write a sales description for this coffee machine, make it very impressive.
The model produces exaggerated and fabricated claims to be "impressive" without knowing the specifics.
Powerful prompt:
Your role: assistant content editor. Brand voice: warm, simple, honest. Product: filter coffee machine. Verified features: 1.25 L bowl, 900 W, auto shut-off, glass jug, paper filter compatible. What comes in the box: machine, glass jug, measuring spoon. Task: 3 benefit items + 110-word description. Rule: only use the given features; Using unprovable claims such as “best/professional/barista quality”; Adding a feature that is not provided.
Common mistakes
- Having text generated without inputting features. This is the most common source of fabricated claims.
- Blowing up the page with filler adjectives. “Gorgeous, unique, premium” does not sell; sells tangible benefits.
- Copying the same text to every marketplace. Character limit and rules are different; The title should be adapted.
- Copying opponent text. It carries the risk of copyright infringement and copied content penalties.
- Changing the brand voice on every product. Inconsistent voice loses confidence.
- Bypass pre-release moderation. Every claim should not be published without being confirmed with the spec and legislation.
In summary
Product copy is the salesperson of the store: the headline provides discovery, bullet points provide quick persuasion, and description provides answers to questions. AI quickly drafts these texts; But a good text is one that turns features into benefits, fits the brand voice, and has every claim that can be proven. Give the AI validated features as input, impose a “make up the not given” rule, audit the output on a claim-by-claim basis. Misleading claims, copyright and unauthorized trademark use are legal risks; Put each text through commercial and legal filters before publication.
Application task
Choose 3 products from your own catalogue. Make a list of the actual specifications for each. Generate a headline, bullet points, and description outline using the 4 templates above. Then mark each claim as SUPPORTED/UNSUPPORTED with the "Text audit" template and delete or correct the unsupported ones. Finally, revise the texts according to your brand voice and write a "brand voice guide" sentence.
